(lol Title screen, they couldn't think of anything better?)
"After years of build-up and waiting, Final Fantasy XIII was released to so-so reviews. The game was a disappointment. But, if at first you don't succeed, try again.(Trailer)
Regardless of fan bickering or indifference, the game was a monster hit for Square Enix, moving over six million copies.
The game's developer, Square Enix, is working on Final Fantasy XIII-2, a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII.
The number of Final Fantasy games can be confusing for non-fans. Each of the games do not follow sequential order, so when Square Enix wants to do a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, the game does not end up being Final Fantasy XIV (which is a totally different, already released game), but Final Fantasy XIII-2.
There is a precedent for this as Square Enix released a sequel to Final Fantasy X in 2003 called Final Fantasy X-2. The sequel followed the exploits of Final Fantasy X heroine Yuna, and Final Fantasy XIII is expected to do the same.
Square Enix has only unveiled the game's logo, which showed Final Fantasy XIII heroine Lightning as well as a new, unnamed character. It is thought that this character is Lightning's rival.
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which caused controversy by originally only being slated for the PS3, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is penciled in for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, right off the bat. The game won't have the wait that Final Fantasy XIII did. According to Square Enix, it will be released in 2011."
Discuss~
I guess the whole released in late 2011 makes a lot of sense considering they don't have to make a new graphic engine and can just recycle everything from 13. I don't hold much if any hope for this pos same goes for 13. But well have to wait and see. Most people are probably gonna buy it for the fan-service I bet.
ReplyDeletewow it WON'T take 5 years to make a piece of crap?
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder how they kept this under wraps for so long considering the first FF13 took like 5 years to make... so perhaps this was being made all along under a code name or something. Flock sheep and go to the mighty Wada. Buy his shit and feel your wallet being raped!
ReplyDeletePS: How much you want to bet, there is 50% LESS clothing than FF13 on all female characters...
Amen, brother (now if I could only get the damn PS1 save cards to freaking work <_<)
ReplyDeletethe whole "You don't know what Final Fantasy WAS" thing is so true. I started playing FF5 today, only intended to play the game for a few mins cause I had other things to do. I ended up clocking 9, yes 9 fucking hours in on it XD The story is so enveloping and deep you just keep going and going to find out everything. They truly don't make games like that anymore.
ReplyDeleteYour damn rite Im rite! Todays FF is too heavy into making it LOOK good. All other qualities of the game dont matter. Like the saying goes, "You can sugar coat shit... but its still shit!" Which is what todays FF is... shit! Like you said up top. You played FF5 for 9 hours without question. Im sure you beat it up and down, left and right but thats not the point. Im lost several weeks of my life to FF7! Sure FF5, its not 3D or even a hint of FMV and NO voice acting... dear God. You mean... I have to READ the story? I cant HEAR it? Dont get me wrong, I love watching todays CGs and FMV and all... but what you all forget, yes Im talking to you pre pub boy, is that FFX is NOT god! FF13 is SHIT! FF7 DOES deserve a remake! And with out the FF of yester year,(pre FF7) you wouldnt have anything like you have today... and thats what makes THAT GOD!
ReplyDeleteThe more and more I think about it. FF7 doesn't deserve a remake. That's one of the few games, that's gotten so much attention and such. I'd rather see them remake FF4, 5, 6, 8 and what the hell 9 too. Those games are just as good as 7 and should get the same loving attention that the rest of them get. They teased us with he whole graphic update for some chars on Dissidia it makes you really wanna see them given a graphic overhaul.
